Overview
Mixology is a Los Angeles–based custom skincare brand built around the idea that no two skin routines should look the same. The concept centers on formulation as a ritual, blending personalized creams and serums into a playful, elevated daily experience. For this project, we developed a complete brand ecosystem including visual identity, packaging design, marketing assets, and social media direction to launch the brand with a cohesive and scalable presence.
Summary
The Mixology brand was designed to balance clinical credibility with a sense of playfulness, drawing inspiration from the fluid textures of serums and creams. Organic forms, minimalist structure, and a subdued modern palette create a funky, minimal, and organic identity, anchored by a custom logo that fuses the letter “m” with a cream squiggle and serum droplet to represent personalized skincare as a daily ritual.
Challenge
As a brand-new skincare company entering a highly saturated and often overly clinical market, Mixology needed a distinct identity that felt both trustworthy and emotionally engaging. The challenge was to avoid the sterile aesthetic commonly seen in skincare packaging while still maintaining a premium, science-backed feel.
Additionally, the brand required a flexible system that could scale across packaging, digital marketing, and social media while clearly communicating customization, personalization, and product blending without overwhelming the user experience.
Solutions
We created a cohesive branding and packaging system that softened clinical cues through organic shapes, fluid marks, and refined minimalism while maintaining a modern, credible feel. Clean packaging layouts, a subdued palette, and scalable marketing and social assets ensured consistency across all touchpoints, positioning Mixology as a personalized, ritual-driven skincare brand with a distinctive and scalable visual identity.
